Virtual Desktop & Remote Desktop

Our core offering is the Proxios Virtual Desktop.  This is a hosted virtual Windows PC that is “superimposed” onto your existing Windows XP or Vista computer or thin client.  You work with your applications and data on the hosted Virtual Desktop.  The applications and data appear to be local to your monitor, mouse and keyboard but are actually on servers in one of Proxios’s data centers.

To use an Proxios Virtual Desktop (remote desktop) all you do is go to our Proxios Customer Portal on the internet, enter your user ID and password.  Your personal, hosted Virtual Desktop appears. This remote virtual desktop performs as well as or better than the Windows XP or Vista desktop you use now but the differences are significant.  Instantly, you are able to:

  • Virtual Desktop & Remote DesktopAccess all applications and data in your company at anytime
  • Run almost any Windows application on any physical PC anywhere in the world
  • Secure your data and even your keystrokes and mouse-clicks
  • Rely on built-in business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Use a hosted Microsoft Exchange e-mail system
  • Receive faxes on your desktop instantly
  • View/listen to voice mail in your E-mail inbox (virtual phone needed)
  • Collaborate with users in other company location or at home
  • Integrate mobile devices such as Blackberries
  • Review user usage reports, e.g. application usage, login times, data storage etc.
  • Manage users easily without needing to know Windows or Active Directory
  • Budget your technology expenses with confidence

The Virtual Network

By deploying the Proxios Virtual desktop to all users in your company, you create a single, integrated virtual network.  No matter how many locations you have, the virtual network makes it seem like everyone is in the same physical location.

Simply put, the virtual network gives you the same control of remote locations that you have over a headquarters location.  It ensures that all users have the same computing experience, that none are step-children to the corporate office.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Business continuity and disaster recovery are built in to every single Proxios Virtual Desktop.   Your business has become highly dependent on the technologies you use. However, operating your own systems in-house leaves you vulnerable to multiple risks and threats. Whether it is a simple power outage or worse, your business cannot afford to be with their office technology for any extended period of time.

Because all of our networks operations reside inside major telecom co-location centers, you are always protected. You may lose power at the office or the office may be struck by a disaster that you cannot recover from for days or weeks. Regardless, the core technologies you depend on and your data are safe inside the data center.  In the event your office becomes un-usable, your simply relocate to a location with power and Internet connectivity and re-establish operations by connecting to your Proxios Virtual Desktops.
